This is great!!!..i love it!!!it inspired me and helped me understands more about faith and our relationship with Jesus Christ. I know we are nothing and hopeless without His Atonement..Through our faith we became strong and firm to endure our individual trials in life..I am so grateful for the gospel I have in my life..for the teachings of the church and for the unconditional love Jesus He has for all of us...Thank you! Rachel, dear, you make me want to read your novel and my "inner mom" says I should nag you to write it, not work on this blog!
I hear you about post it notes. Now all those little scraps of ideas can stick to something or the wall! As in Amadeus,though,"write it down!"
Coping with finding time for writing in itself could be an interesting blog topic. John Bytheway (my favorite prepositional phrase!) says to get up 30 minutes earlier and that's when he writes his books. Perhaps at a 2am feeding, spending 30 minutes on the organization or writing of the book, then put your feet back in bed? Or instead of watching TV-or after prayers? Making time for ME is the focus of this magazine. Make time to get that novel written and publish the thing. You will be so glad you did! :D

I remember this talk by President Hinckley! It impressed me then and still impresses me!
I too joined the church when President Hinckley was Prophet & President of the church. I was baptized in October, 1996, the week after General Conference. If I remember correctly, he was sustained as President of the church in March 1995.
He will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only was he a champion of women, he began the wonderful plan of building smaller temples all over the world, making it easier for us to do the work for our kindred dead.

Inca Cola was great! It reminded me of our "cream" sodas, here in the U.S.

I had to watch the Chicha. Some homemade chichas were more fermented than others and I got a little woozy. It doesn't take much to make me light-headed. I really enjoyed their "lemonade" -- which was actually made from their native limes -- very much like key limes.

The food was wonderful. I was expecting more of a Mexican type flair and quickly learned that they are not like that, at all. It was totally unique and very tasteful.

The people, themselves, were the most impressive. What a devout, wonderful, friendly people! Very polite and not afraid of hard work.

We can learn a lot from them!

Thanks for asking this question Ann. Right now all our writers are contributors. What we are doing is collecting a group of writers from which we eventually want to pick some regular ones. When we have done this, then we will be talking more about payment. Our desire is to give a voice to those women out there who would like to write but perhaps have never really done so and for this reason we want to make sure what is used is of value to everyone and is in line with our principles and values.
